Inpatient hospital
Bethesda Hospital combines the advantages of a traditional affiliated hospital with the benefits of our in-house team (clinics run by head physicians). Our patients choose before admission whether they want to be treated by our in-house team (employed doctors and midwives from the hospital) and/or by one of our affiliated doctors and midwives.
Our tried and tested referral system is highly appreciated by patients. In all cases, treatment is combined with personalised, caring nursing care and the exclusive advantages of our private hospital.
Thanks to this autonomy, our patients and parents-to-be have a say in the choice of medical specialist and midwife as well as the type and timing of treatment.
What is an attending physician?
Attending physicians are trained specialists who work independently and treat and care for their patients of all insurance classes independently in the hospital or in the practice. All our attending physicians must meet our high standards in order to be accredited and represent our values and philosophy.
Bethesda Hospital has a team of around 120 affiliated doctors. They mainly work in the specialist areas of gynaecology, obstetrics and surgery.

Attending midwives are trained midwives who work independently and treat and care for expectant mothers of all insurance classes on their own responsibility in hospital or at the practice. All our affiliated midwives must meet our high standards in order to be accredited and represent our values and philosophy.
