Logistician EFZ

In your role as an EFZ logistics specialist, you will work in places where everyday goods, industrial products, consignments and other items are handled, stored and distributed. At Bethesda Hospital, you will be responsible for the professional management of items such as disposables for medical purposes, laboratory supplies, household goods, office supplies and forms. You will be responsible for receiving these items, checking them and recording them in the electronic system. You will also continuously monitor stock levels to avoid both excess quantities and shortages. The computer is an essential tool in all of these areas of responsibility. With its help, you register goods, monitor stock levels, organise warehousing, prepare reports, have telephone contact with suppliers and internal customers, place orders and process orders.

Requirements & application process

  • Completed and passed compulsory education at secondary level I, usually secondary level E
  • Team player, open and motivated person who acts responsibly and has organisational skills
  • Open to change and constructive criticism
  • 4 varied practical days per week at Bethesda Hospital
  • 1 day per week at the vocational school; additional inter-company courses (ÜK) take place.
  • 12 weeks of external training at a partner company in Basel

You will complete your training at Bethesda Hospital in the Central Purchasing department, where you will familiarise yourself with various areas of work:

  • Warehouse
  • Goods receiving
  • Distribution
  • Procurement

Theoretical lessons will take place one day a week at the vocational school in Liestal. During your training, you will acquire a forklift driver's licence. We also offer you the opportunity to do an internship at one of our partner companies during the training period, allowing you to familiarise yourself with a different warehouse system.

The training programme lasts 3 years and leads to the Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ). It is possible to obtain the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate integrated into the school programme. This qualification opens the door to higher vocational training.

All apprenticeship positions are currently filled. Applications for apprenticeships from August 2027 are welcome online.
