House rules at Bethesda Hospital

Our house rules - for your safety

The following rules of the house rules serve to maintain orderly hospital operations and safety in the interests of persons hospitalised at Bethesda Hospital, the staff employed at Bethesda Hospital and visitors.

These house rules apply to all persons entering Bethesda Hospital. The house rules apply to the entire premises, both indoors and outdoors. For patients, the brochure "Rights and duties of the patient" applies in addition to the house rules.

Bethesda Hospital must be able to fulfil its purpose undisturbed. Anything that impedes orderly and appropriate operation must be avoided. In particular, attention must be paid to peace and order, hygiene and cleanliness and the safety of all persons must be guaranteed.

Access to the interior of the hospital is permitted to the following groups of people:

  • Employees, including persons brought in by Bethesda Hospital
  • Attending physicians
  • Patients and pregnant women
  • Visitors, carers and persons accompanying patients
  • Participants in events (incl. church services, memorial services), courses and workshops
  • Restaurant guests
  • MTT customers
  • People who have to fulfil orders for the hospital

The following behaviour is prohibited in Bethesda Hospital or on the hospital grounds:

  • Sexual harassment
  • Violence
  • Bullying
  • Advertising, collections and surveys for political purposes, as well as political events
  • bringing and keeping animals in the hospital building. Exceptions to this rule are determined by the nursing staff/hospital hygiene department
  • the possession and consumption of drugs
  • smoking (including e-cigarettes) within the hospital building and in the smoke-free zones on the grounds
  • all activities/actions that disturb peace, safety and order

Patients and staff are advised not to bring any valuables or large sums of money into Bethesda Hospital. Bethesda Hospital accepts no liability for the loss or theft of valuables, cash or other personal effects (watches, jewellery, glasses, dentures, electronic devices, etc.) during hospital stays or hospital visits.

During visits, due consideration must be given to other patients and visitors. Visitors must adhere to the published visiting times and the special instructions issued by staff in individual cases.

In the event of violations of the car park or traffic regulations, compensation may be charged or legal action may be taken.

Violations of the house rules may result in expulsion from the hospital premises. In the event of serious or repeated breaches of the house rules, the hospital management may issue a ban from the premises. If this request is not complied with, police and criminal proceedings may be initiated.

Special events, such as a pandemic, can override or tighten the house rules.
