Another top rating for medical training therapy (MTT)
The Swiss Fitness and Health Centre Association has developed a rating for fitness and health centres. The star rating is comparable to the star classification of the hotel industry and offers customers the greatest possible transparency as to what they can expect from their training centre. With 900 medical training therapy subscribers, 1,400 outpatient and 3,800 inpatient treatments per year, Bethesda Hospital runs a very successful medical training therapy centre. This has now once again been awarded the top classification of 5 stars. This makes Bethesda Hospital the only hospital in Switzerland to be awarded this certification
The 5-star FULL TIME CARE MEDICAL classification certifies proof of the following quality features:
- During opening hours, at least one qualified member of staff is present in the training centre to "dynamically coach" customers during training and is available to answer medical questions (without a pre-arranged appointment).
- Individual counselling and introductory meetings with a health questionnaire and training plan. These are tailored to the customer's needs.
- Endurance equipment for at least 5 types of exercise is provided.
- Various group fitness courses are offered within Bethesda Hospital.
- All staff have valid first aid training and are trained in the assessment and initial treatment of acutely ill or injured persons.
One of the most important factors in the success of this classification is the quality of care and training provided by the staff. Outpatients and MTT customers therefore benefit from the renowned Bethesda Physiotherapy team.
Additional certification Fitness-Guide medical
The additional designation "Medical" means that, in addition to the physiotherapy team, medical specialists are also available to help customers/patients with pain or questions about the training plan. This enables interdisciplinary cooperation and networking.
About medical training therapy
The respective goals of those training are very different: one subscriber wants to run the Basel City Marathon and is looking for optimal training methods, another wants to cure his knee problems so that he can ski again, the next is doing physiotherapy to return to work as soon as possible after an operation.
That's why the focus when a new member joins is on a detailed interview and completing the health questionnaire to clarify their state of health. "Once the physical performance in the areas of strength, flexibility, balance and endurance has been determined, a training and fitness programme tailored to the customer's needs is developed and careful training on the correct use of the equipment is provided," explains Claudia Picenoni, emphasising: "Especially after injuries to the musculoskeletal system, such as ligament, muscle and joint injuries, it is important to continue maintaining muscle training after therapy has been completed. This prevents new injuries, overloading and further damage!"
