The EFQM Excellence Model is a holistic management and thinking model based on Total Quality Management. It was developed in 1988 by the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management). The main responsibility for the further training of junior doctors lies with the directors of the recognised further training centres. These are the respective chief physicians or a senior physician responsible for further training. They must first and foremost ensure that the junior doctors can complete their further training as prescribed in the further training programmes.

With 900 medical training therapy subscribers, 1,400 outpatient and 3,800 inpatient treatments per year, Bethesda Hospital runs a very successful medical training therapy programme.
