Treat bladder infections correctly.

(Bethesda Spital)

A constant urge to urinate, a burning sensation and pain when urinating - this is what characterises an unpleasant bladder infection. The infection occurs in many women and at any age. 50 % develop urinary tract inflammation in the course of their lives. Another half of those affected suffer from repeated infections.

"It is usually a combination of factors that lead to the inflammation
led to the inflammation. For example, incontinence can damage the protective mucous membranes in the intimate area. However, dry mucous membranes that are unable to resist germs also occur more frequently in the vagina," explains Dr Humburg, adding that "we can usually achieve very good results with accompanying measures and adjustments to everyday life."

«The standard treatment is antibiotics. Today, however, we are seeing more and more resistance, which is why the focus must be on prophylactic measures.»

In complex cases, clarifications such as cystoscopy or radiological examinations may be necessary. These patients are then also presented at the interdisciplinary pelvic floor board at Bethesda Hospital. This exchange between various specialists ensures holistic treatment at the highest level.
