Occupational therapy - hand in hand for rehabilitation

Occupational therapy is part of the services offered by the Therapy & Training Centre at Bethesda Hospital. Following an injury or illness to the hand or forearm, patients are supported in their rehabilitation so that they can relearn lost skills. Our occupational therapists work with you to realise individual goals so that you can return to your everyday life independently as soon as possible.

Would you like to find out more about a specific occupational therapy programme? Do you have specific complaints that you would like to discuss with us? Or would you like a detailed and personalised consultation to find out the cause of your symptoms? We are happy to help you in all these cases - here you will find an overview of our services.

The best interdisciplinary treatment

Because musculoskeletal complaints are often very complex, we work closely with the teams in related fields. Together, we work hard for you - so you are always in good hands with us and receive the treatment that is tailored to your condition. We work on an interdisciplinary basis in the following areas:

The team of specialists in the hand surgery department, which is run by an attending physician, covers the entire conservative and surgical treatment spectrum for the hand, forearm and elbow.

Physiotherapy is a central part of our focus area "musculoskeletal system" and is one of Bethesda Hospital's key qualifications. With a great deal of experience and empathy, our highly trained team will support you throughout the entire treatment process. We treat and advise you both as an outpatient and inpatient, for injuries, before and after operations and for musculoskeletal disorders.

The Orthopaedics Clinic at Bethesda Hospital, which is run by the University Hospital, looks after a second site at Bethesda Hospital in addition to the main site. Here, orthopaedic patients have access to university medicine in collaboration with Bethesda Hospital.

Bethesda Hospital's expertise in the field of rehabilitation ties in with our focus on the musculoskeletal system and thus combines the multi-professional and interdisciplinary management of patient concerns "under one roof" in the sense of a holistic treatment pathway. Where necessary, therapy strategies, rehabilitative strategies and preventive strategies are assessed together with specialists from various medical and paramedical disciplines and reorganised if necessary. Highly developed technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging, bone densitometry and ultrasound are used to support this. We show empathy and stand for co-determination by working in partnership with the patient.

Musculoskeletal complaints are very common, often extremely painful and associated with limitations. They can also have many different causes. Sometimes rheumatic complaints indicate a serious systemic illness. At Bethesda Hospital, you will find rheumatology and pain medicine combined in one clinic - so the various specialists can tailor treatment precisely to your needs.
